For this week's Hop we are to post one of our favorite pictures with the story behind it.

This picture is one that I've always held near and dear. I was just about 2-years-old in this picture, and was enjoying a little quality time with Grandpa. We're sitting in the back of the first truck my parents bought together...a little light blue Chevy. It is almost exactly what I remember when I think about growing up. Grandpa in his overalls, me "helping" him work, with a worn-out doll in tow.

Welcome Poodles, Moodles, and stoppers-by from the MckLinky Blog Hop! This is Goodbye, Martha and I'm glad you're here! I love the idea of checking out some new blogs and making new friends, so leave a comment and I'll be sure to visit your spot and return the favor!

Now then, down to business!

This month's Hop topic is "Introduce Your Blog!" Appropriate, right? I started GM in March 2009 with the intent of tracking a friendly wager I have with my friend. It's turned into that and so much more since then!

First and foremost, GM is about my journey to become a better woman of God...a way to keep track of all that He's teaching me and showing me about myself. The name, "Goodbye, Martha" came from this same area of my life. I had been feeling convicted that I was becoming far too much like Martha and in the process was losing my Mary spirit. I was "doing" a lot for God, but I wasn't just "being" with Him. (See Luke 10:38-42) I'm striving to free myself of some of my commitments so that I have more time to just be in God's presence, that way I can say "Goodbye, Martha" once and for all.

I've made some fantastic friends through GM, and am looking forward to meeting that many more people through the start of 5K Fridays, a weekly blogger link-up to help us all stay on track with our efforts to get off the couch and get moving. Some of the other GM Regulars are OHF, a weekly progress report of my little weight-loss wager with Hammy; and Tempting Tuesdays when I share some of my go-to recipes (and hopefully, someday, find others in return!)

I could go on and on (and on, and on) about GM and what a blessing it's been to me, but I do want y'all to save some energy so you're able to leave a comment or two! I love hearing from all of you, so let those comments, questions, and emails fly! I'm looking forward to it!
