For Me!?

Welcome to Tuesday, my dears! Today will bring the return of a wayward regular on GM, Tempting Tuesdays, but first I have some blog business to tend to!

I am incredibly spoiled and have been given another award! This one comes courtesy of ValĂ©rie at En QuĂȘte D' Inspiration.

When I GM was just beginning Val was one of my first regular commenters. I loved that someone so chic and fabulous was interested in my ramblings. Val has been a staple in my Google Reader ever since. She's a (nearly) tri-lingual 20-something that aspires to become a Life Coach for high school and college students. She's a great addition to anyone's blog roll!

So, with that, I give you The Honest Scrap Award!

---------------------------------------------------------

"The Honest Scrap award comes with a caveat or two. Firstly, you have to tell your readers ten things about you they may not know, but that are true. Secondly, you have to tag 10 people with the award. Thirdly, let all the people you've given the award to know that they've gotten it (comment on their blogs or something). And finally, make sure you link back to the person who awarded you."

---------------------------------------------------------

Ten things The Poodles might not know?! I don't think there are ten things. Well...there are...but a girl has to have some secrets! Oh well, a rule is a rule...

Ten Little-Known Lins Facts:
  1. I own a fiddle. I've owned it since Christmas 2007 and I still can't play it very well. I want to be good at it, but I get frustrated at all my squeaking and ignore it for a year a couple months.
  2. I was pretty near fearless when I was a little girl. Growing up in the country we had to make our own fun, and we were good at it. One summer afternoon we were exploring a hollowed out log and found a "kitty" hiding in the log. I volunteered to reach into the log and pull the "kitty" out so we could rescue it. We walked the half-mile back to the house, holding the "kitty" by it's tail, as it was hissing and clawing and not acting very friendly. We walked right in the front door of my friend's house and into the kitchen to show her mom our new friend. My friend's mom let out a scream and shoved us right back out the door and told us to put the "kitty" down and run back towards her as fast as we could. We didn't understand why she didn't like our "kitty" with the hairless tail, but we did as we were told. Turns out that "kitty" was no cat...it was a young opossum. A very angry, hissing, clawing opossum that we had brought into her house.
  3. I love all sorts of music, but country holds a spot that is near and dear to my heart. Even better than "country" in general is classic country. The more twang, the better. It brings back great memories of growing up listening to my parents' music, and I just can't get enough of it. Think Hank Williams, Sr., Lefty Frizzel, Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty, Mel Tillis, and Merle Haggard.
  4. I love to plan parties. My brother and I planned a party for my parents' 30th anniversary and I discovered I really enjoyed the party planning process. Helping Becky plan her wedding has been fantastic! I love all the tiny details! If money were no object I would see about getting into wedding/party planning.
  5. I love Long John Silvers' fish...with TONS of Malt Vinegar on it, but I won't let myself have it very often because the grease really grosses me out.
  6. My dream for my life is that God would bless me with a husband and a family. Some people dream of being President, I dream of being a Godly wife and loving mother.
  7. I think that the Flint Hills of Eastern Kansas are more beautiful than the Colorado Rockies. Maybe you have to be a native to understand...
  8. I sneak Starbucks into the movies. I do this on a very regular basis.
  9. When I was a little girl I would tell my Dad (over and over again) that I wanted to marry someone just like him. That's still the case.
  10. I love to dance! I may not be the best dancer, but I fancy myself a fairly decent two-stepper. There isn't much better than finding a great dance partner and letting them twirl you around a dance floor. Part of why I look forward to rodeo season so much is the dances afterward. Plenty of two-steppers in those crowds!
Wow! There you have it...10 (slightly long-winded) things about me that aren't common knowledge!

Now for the fun stuff! I do hereby pass this award on to the following fabulous bloggers:
Enjoy your award, ladies! You absolutely deserve it!

Stay tuned for the return of a very easy Tuesday Temptation!

Congrats on the award and thank you for passing it along to me!

Love the story about the Opossum! I had a pet Raccoon when I was little and my Mom hated it.

You made me remember another thing I miss about Denver. My favorite movie theater (in Belmar Shopping Center in Lakewood) made Starbucks coffe and lattes in their concession stand. No Sneaking Needed!!

Have a great day!

I agree about the flint hills. Especially beautiful during a sun rise.
