Weather MEN!

If you are a born and bred Kansan you know that storm season is one of the best times of the year. We get some major storms in our neighborhood, and once in awhile the weather is just right and we can be in for some doozies. Today is one of those days. Since this morning even the national weather media has been warning of Super Cell tornadoes, large hail, and all-around Kansas weather goodness. So good, in fact, that it's attracted the attention of some weather celebrities.

How would you like to be driving down a two-lane blacktop in Flatsville, Kansas and see this thing blow past you?

The Storm Chasers of Discovery Channel fame are sitting in the parking lot of an antique mall no more than 30 minutes south of my tiny little hometown!

About an hour ago I got a call from my very excited Mom teling me that this "big tank thing" was parked in the truck stop half a mile north of our house. She sent me a link to their live video stream and sure enough, there they sat. Pretty soon they started traveling and finally settled in to the antique mall parking lot to wait on some big storms to pop up.

I've been letting the video run in the background and I have to say, these boys are good for some comedic relief. I'm fairly certain they've forgotten that their dash cam has audio, because they've spent the last 15 minutes serenading viewers with off-tune renditions of everything from Johnny Cash to Lil' Troy.

If you hurry on over to their live video feed you can witness them doing "interviews" while they kill time before the next storm.

Oh, and ladies...you DO WANT to see those interviews. Who knew that storm chasers were so dang good looking!?

Maybe those boys could use a refreshing beverage while they wait. I could be there in 20 minutes flat. :)

I'm sure they TOTALLY would enjoy a cold beverage! You should bring them something! Who knows, you may even show up on their show!

Let us know if you do! But only if there is no touchdowns yet.....because they get occupied if there is going to be a touchdown....

Ha ha, hot twister boys! That is awesome. My ex lived in KS so I went there all of the time, but luckily because I only went there during the weekend there was no real tornado warning. The tornado chasers sounds just like The Twister the movie though. LOL. I have no right to freak out about my little thunder bumper after reading about this. Thanks for your comment on my "fairy tale." Your comment reminded me to be grateful! Enjoy those hunky weather men sweetie...

How funny....yes Lins I think they would probably love a nice cool drink!

When I moved to Dallas I had no idea I was moving to tornado alley and have learned real fast how to listen for the siren and run like heck to the closet under the stairs.

Do you have a storm cellar???

@Tina: No basement/storm cellar where I'm at, but we're not far from one. God's been good so far...we haven't had any close calls where we're at now.

how COOL! I've never seen or heard of the show - but now I'm interested... storm chasers? Like on the movie Tornado? I drove through Kansas once and couldn't believe how FLAT and WINDY it was... all of a sudden Wizard of Oz made so much more sense! :)

Mom called and told me about where they were. Of course when the storm chasers show up it seems there is never any real excitement!

Jarett, mom, dad and I have spent whole days watchng that show. There is actually one group who will give guided tours. You can hang out with the chasers for a price. Crazy!
